FAQ

do you have a question?

We’ll try to answer the most common ones here, but if you don’t find your answer, please reach out!

You can check out the costs of Level 2 chargers online, but it just depends on which one you choose. The biggest variables on the install include how far the electrical panel is from where you want your charger install (heavy-gauge wire is expensive) and the time it takes in total as well.

We sure do! You can fill out our EV form here or give us a call. The more detail the better so we can save you time, and we may not even need to go out to your home if we can do a video call or have a few pictures.

That’s a great question. The answer is most likely “Yes!”, but our electricians will always do a panel and load analysis to make sure that you can power a high voltage EV charger. There are even some newer nifty tools that allow you to switch between high-powered appliances to avoid a panel upgrade, if it comes to that.

Whether you charge fast or slow at home, you’ll probably pay the same rate. The real savings comes from having a full-enough battery all the time so you can avoid the expenses public chargers, which in the DC area is about 3-4X more expensive vs. charging at home. Check out our calculator just above on this page, and you’ll likely be pretty surprised!

You sure can. You just need an adapter for your Tesla charger cable and it works just fine. In fact, you may want a regular charger so that it provides flexibility into the J1772 plug type for anyone plugging in non-Teslas. You may get a home value increase to boot.

It depends on the car, but a general rule of thumb is 5-6X faster than plugging in to a regular 120V outlet. For example – the Tesla Model 3 charges at about 4 to 5 miles per hour on the regular 120V outlet. With a 240V Level 2 fast charger, you can charge at 25-30 miles per hour! That means you can run the battery to near zero every night and have a full battery when you wake up.
