Why install a heat pump mini split or ducted hVAC System?

It’s true that there are many benefits to heat pump HVAC systems beyond just energy savings. Here are some extras to consider:

  • An engineered, correct design will allow for better airflow, more comfort, potentially lower bills, and overall a more stable overall home temperature.
  • Cut the gas cord and increase indoor air quality when you electrify your HVAC system.
  • Less maintenance – No need anymore to maintain old or two system (electric air conditioning and gas furnace, for example).
  • Take advantage of the thousands of dollars available in rebates and tax credits today.
  • Possibility of overall energy savings with a much more efficient and correctly sized system.
  • Mini splits and multi-zone systems allow for more room-by-room control.

did you know?

Did you know that Washington DC is considered the best solar market in the country? Not only is there a 30% federal uncapped tax credit, but DC has an incredible SREC program for customers. This program pays you yearly for your renewable energy production which is purchased by commercial and public organizations to meet the DC renewable energy generation requirement put into legislation through the year 2041.

If you haven’t looked into solar yet, that’s a great project to include into your netzero and home electrification total home plan that we offer.

We love designing full net zero and home electrification systems for you that save money and just make sense. And heat pump HVAC installations are a big part of this overall holistic energy planning.

Air Sealing and Insulation Service

Insulation and air sealing goes hand in hand with saving energy with your HVAC system, whether it be new or old. The fact is, all these projects tag-team off of each other. With a less leaky home that has better insulation, the HVAC system is able to work less. This leads to energy and maintenance savings, along with longer system lifetimes.

Done together, we can save energy across the board. It also starts with a good energy audit, which we suggest doing also.

FAQ

do you have a question about heat pumps?

We’ll try to answer the most common ones here, but if you don’t find your answer, please reach out!

Ducted and mini split heat pump systems can run anywhere from four to five figures in cost, depending on your home. We would have to do a specific home analysis for you personally. There are thousands of dollar in incentives right now, however, that will help with the cost. And if you’re needing to replace old air conditioners or heating equipment like furnaces anyway, now is a great time to replace both of those units with a single heat pump that heats and cools much more efficiently.

We sure do! You can fill out our Contact Form here or give us a call. The more detail the better so we can save you time, and we may not even need to go out to your home if we can do a video call or have a few pictures.

Cold climate heat pumps usually cost a little bit more, but they are engineered to withstand much lower outside temperatures than regular models. This means they can keep heating your home down to below zero. It completely depends on the model, but we highly encourage customers that we work with to go with a cold-climate model so that they are stuck out in the cold, literally.

Cold climate heat pumps also usually qualify for higher tax credits and rebates as well, helping pay for the incremental higher cost. At the end of the day, it’s about peace of mind, knowing that even in cold snaps, your new heat pump will work well so you don’t have to worry about yet another thing on your list. Contact Us for specifics on install details!

Yes indeed! The heat pump system both heats and cools your home using the same hardware and equipment. They are also much more efficient than old air conditioners and ways of heating as well (natural gas, propane, oil). And not only that, they really cut down on greenhouse gases and burning fossil fuels at the same time due to their incredible efficiency.

For this reason and more, heat pumps are able to replace your old air conditioning system and your heating system at the same time.

The technical definition of a heat pump is an air conditioner that works in both directions. This means it can either add heat to your home, or pull heat out of it (air conditioning).
