Calculate Your Yearly Utility Savings with air sealing and insulation

It’s true that you’ll most likely get some energy savings, but the real benefit might be comfort instead. By sealing up gaps and cracks, and perhaps beefing up the insulation as well, we can keep the conditioned air inside the home for longer. This is what saves you money at the same time.

Finally, a comfortable home.

Many homes in the DC area naturally have stack effect, multiple levels, are leaky by nature, and have missing insulation. The fact that it may be newer built or renovated does not necessarily mean it was built with energy efficiency and comfort in mind.

Starting with an energy audit, we can then do air sealing work with our findings during the audit with the blower door, smoke testing, and infrared cameras. This will lead utility bill savings, less draftiness, fewer hot and cold spots, lower HVAC maintenance expenses, and better overall comfort.

Why get air sealing done?

It’s true that many don’t consider air sealing work as sexy as solar, new windows, or other projects that you can see. But after doing an energy audit, it is the most important thing you can do in order to potentially save you thousands, or tens of thousands of dollars by doing things the right way, especially when you are wanting to do much more expensive energy projects afterward.

  • It helps stop the drafts and airflow through the home.
  • Leads to lower utility bills.
  • More evenly distributes the air – fewer hot and cold spots.
  • Less HVAC maintenance costs because it usually can run less.
  • Healthier air management and control over outside air infiltration.
  • Better home durability.
